It is important that junior golfers be fitted for their golf clubs. The most important fitting factor for juniors is the length of the club. If a club is too long the junior will tend to hit the ball to the left, too short and the ball will tend to go to the right. The junior usually tries to correct equipment problems by adjusting their swing. The art of striking a golf ball properly is hard enough to learn. Improperly fitted clubs should not interfere with the learning process. Since most of the junior clubs are sold by age group, six to ten and ten to twelve years of age, it is highly unlikely they would fit for more than a brief period. Most of the department store sets contain graphite shafts which are fine for some juniors but not all.
